    Kari Jormakka ° absolute motion

     15,00

Inspired by the philosophy of Henri Bergson, the futurist artist Umberto Boccioni proposed a double concept of motion, consisting of relative motion, or form in movement, and absolute motion, or movement in form. The present publication extends this Bergsonian inquiry into the field of architectural design, relating it to the ideas of Gilles Deleuze and to recent developments in the natural sciences.

In this volume, leading designers, theorists and historians collaborate to articulate the implications of motion for the design of architecture, addressing such diverse issues as virtuality, n-dimensional space, invisible architectures, new geometrical and topological models, synaesthesia, chaos theory, morphology, the concepts of diagram and algorithm, the potential of computer-aided motion-based design techniques and computer-controlled production methods.
